Northern Cyprus

In March 2006, as a member of a small project team, I visited the beautiful Mediterranean island - Cyprus for the first time. A very interesting place form the historical, political and social point of view. An island with the last divided capital in Europe. Northern Cyprus is part of the island inhabited by the people of Turkish origin, with a fantastic climate and nature, very nice people and delicious cuisine. After the first visit I have been following the happenings in Northern Cyprus and using every opportunity to go there.

Turkish cuisine

I love good food. For that I was truly born in the wrong location, because the central European couisine has, unfortunately, not much to offer. But the oriental ... With the Turkish I have the most "experience" (I'm living in Berlin-Neukölln, a district inhabited by many Turks). Very very well seasoned, diverse and without pork. Yummy. In Berlin, you can have some delicious turkish meals, but of course, you can not compare it to the "originals" - in Turkey or Northern Cyprus

Foreign languages

I come from Poland, since mid-2005 I live/ study/ work in Germany and my family lives in the Netherlands - quite a typical Polish constellation. But that's not the only reason I'm interested in foreign languages. How many languages you speak, so many times you are human, said Goethe, and I think that's truth. I speak Polish, German, English, Russian, Dutch and have some basics in other languages. Without knowing the language it's difficult to understand the other culture, poetry, philosophy, and particularly humor

Music

Almost everyone says he or she is interested in music, and so do I ;) And Berlin really encourages this interest. Among my "favorite locations" there are: the Philharmonie, Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt, and State Opera, but also Quasimodo and b-flat with great jazz concerts.
